Regents has been pleased to partner with Saltmine Theatre Company to launch a new BA Hons degree in Applied Theology and Performing Arts. Last year, a number of Performing Arts modules were offered on the Theology degree programme but now validation has been received from the University of Wales for a new joint degree to operate.
This new course integrates core modules such as Old Testament Studies and New Testament Studies from the existing Theology degree with exciting new and practical modules form the world of Performing Arts.
Performing Arts modules in year one include:
- Acting Techniques
- Devised Theatre
- History of Performance and the Church
- Jesus in Film.
In addition to academic modules, students will have opportunity to work with Saltmine or other church theatre groups options include schools work, missions work and production touring.
The Course Leader is Richard Hasnip MA who is a senior member of Saltmine's Team and is an actor, writer and director.
